We build the ops layer so your team does not have to
Symbiosis watches traffic, pre-shifts capacity, and routes requests to the nearest PoP. We are a focused infrastructure team based in Stockholm.
Edge infrastructure that operates itself
Symbiosis gives small engineering teams an edge operations layer without requiring a full SRE team. It watches traffic, uses an AI prediction model to pre-shift capacity, and routes requests to the nearest PoP across 12 locations on five continents. That keeps deployment and traffic management closer to the product work.
We are bootstrapped by choice. Without pressure to expand prematurely, we can keep the product focused and make decisions around what customers actually need. Our incentives stay aligned with the teams using Symbiosis, rather than with a funding timetable or a broader growth plan.
We are three people with deep infrastructure experience and a narrow mission. The roadmap follows customer needs: less operational overhead, clearer traffic management, and infrastructure small teams can rely on.
Three people, one product
Buster Styren
CEO, co-founderBuster Styren is CEO and Co-Founder of Symbiosis. His background is in developer infrastructure and web engineering, with years spent building and shipping developer-facing tooling for deployment and hosting workflows. He co-founded Symbiosis to remove the operational burden that can pull small engineering teams away from building their products.
Elias Makinen
Head of InfrastructureElias Makinen is Head of Infrastructure at Symbiosis. His background spans container orchestration, cloud-native architecture, and telco networking. He has spent years building reliable infrastructure at scale for latency-sensitive workloads, bringing a practical focus to the systems that watch traffic, shift capacity, and keep requests moving.
Marcus Lindqvist
CTOMarcus Lindqvist is CTO and a technical co-founder of Symbiosis. His work centers on distributed systems, edge compute, and network routing. He brings deep experience designing low-latency systems and building traffic management infrastructure, shaping the technical foundation behind Symbiosis and its network of PoPs.
Stockholm, Sweden
We work from a shared engineering office in central Stockholm. We don't have a distributed team and we don't plan to grow headcount quickly. The product and the codebase are manageable by three people, and we intend to keep them that way until the economics demand otherwise.
